Canine Crawl - Sponsor Spotlights

We’re all getting excited for Canine Crawl, our biggest event of the year! Canine Crawl is a day of fun for your entire family, both two-legged and four-legged. The event includes live music, a no breed dog show, microchipping, vendors, face painting, and much much more! All proceeds raised during the event will benefit HSEC. Check the blog throughout the week to read more about this fun event, and mark your calendars!

in Greenville, NC 12pm-4pm

We can’t wait to see you there!

And to kick off our posts about Canine Crawl, we have to give special mention and thanks to the folks who make it all possible: our sponsors. The more HSEC receives in sponsorship assistance, the less it costs for us to put on fun events like Canine Crawl, and we can give more back to the animals in our care.

We have many amazing sponsors for Canine Crawl this year. Let’s take a quick peek at two.

Hoffman-Haus Pet Resort

Hoffman-Haus Pet Resort is a "five paw" pet resort in a beautiful country setting, with a friendly family atmosphere. It has served the Greenville/Winterville area with pride since 1988, and everyday strives to “live up to the promise we made all those years ago to provide an uncompromising commitment to quality pet boarding and grooming”, says spokeswoman Doreen Livermon. “Because of our caring and knowledgeable team, dogs go home happy, healthy, and come back with their tails wagging. Cats go home healthy and stress free.”

We asked Ms. Livermon why Hoffman-Haus chooses to help support HSEC in addition to other animal rescue organizations. She replied, “Hoffman-Haus Pet Resort has always been a strong proponent of animal rescue, adoption, spay/neuter, and pet responsibility education. We believe strongly in helping to support the HSEC and other animal rescue organizations. We advocate volunteering, attending fund raising and awareness events, giving supplies and monetary donations.”

Hoffman-Haus provides many services for your pets, including boarding and daycare, obedience training, and grooming and bathing. Check out their website, or head on out to their Winterville location for a tour. They are located at 1031 Laurie Ellis Rd, and their phone number is 252-355-HOME.

East Carolina Veterinary Service

Dr. Linda Kuhn and her staff work hard to give personalized care to every patient, large or small. The motto of East Carolina Vet is “providing quality veterinary medicine in a caring environment.” They treat a wide variety of animals, including dogs, cats, horses, birds, sheep, goats, and pocket pets.

Dr. Kuhn is a familiar face at HSEC, where she leads a group of young volunteers from The Oakwood School in socializing adoptable animals, particularly kittens and puppies. She says, “As a veterinarian I feel it’s important to try and help animals who don’t have homes. I work with the Humane Society along with other rescue groups. Not only do I do veterinary care... primarily I’m out training with trainers and high school students. We try to get them healthy and into good homes, that’s our goal.”

Dr. Kuhn shares her experience with young student

Dr. Kuhn and East Carolina Vet support many organizations in our community. When we asked Dr. Kuhn what motivated her to freely donate her services, she replied, “I feel it’s important to give back to the community and working with to the Humane Society is part of my community service. I find it very enjoyable to be out there with students doing the training. It really helps a lot of the dogs, they remember their training when they come in to see me.”

To learn more about East Carolina Vet, visit their website or their clinic, located at 2401 S. Charles Blvd in Greenville. For an appointment, call 252-355-4945.

This is just a small taste of the wonderful things our sponsors are doing for HSEC and for the community. We truly could not do it without you. Thank you!

And don’t forget to come on out to Canine Crawl!
